Lisa Russell – Principal

Lisa has been involved in the performing arts industry for over 10 years and has always had a love for dance and teaching. She obtained her ATOD teaching qualifications in ballet, tap and jazz and has since had many successes in her students’ exams, eisteddfods and scholarships.

During 2008 and 2009, Lisa was the Dance Coordinator at Cumberland Hospital, where she taught dance to mental health patients. Lisa also has a love for choreography and musical theatre and has worked with many societies and schools  throughout Sydney putting on musicals and preparing for Rock Eisteddfod. Lisa is also studying a Bachelor of Dance Education at ACPE.

Lisa believes that every student has the potential to excel with hard work and a passion for the arts and loves being able to pass this on to her students.

Ashleigh Baker – Dance

Ashleigh has been dancing for over 10 years and has completed exams in ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop. Ashleigh joined JumpPA 6 years ago to further her dance training and has since trained to be an enthusiastic and fun teacher. Ashleigh has a strong passion for dance and teaching and loves being able to pass it on to her students.

Jody Hooker – Dance

Jody has been involved in the performing arts for many years, starting dance classes at the age of 2 in jazz, tap and ballet. Since then she has expanded into more specialised styles whilst continuing her exams. Jody grew up learning and later teaching at Fusion Dance Australia while spending a lot of her time at Sydney Dance Company and workshops around Sydney to expand her dance education while choreographing for musical theatre companies and school rock eisteddfod challenges.

As well as studying dance Jody has been involved in many drama and music events, such as theatre sport teams and  musical theatre companies, and is currently studying a Bachelor of Music at the Australian International Conservatorium of Music.

Steven Kreamer – Keyboard and Voice

Steven is currently a student at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music studying composition. He has been a pianist since the age of 5 and has completed his Certificate of Performance in Piano. Steven has been teaching piano, singing and musicianship for four years. His background is mostly in musical theatre and cabaret having musically directed productions of Beauty and the Beast, The Wizard of Oz, Rent, Putting It Together and My Son Pinocchio. Steven also accompanied and composed the musical arrangements for What I Did For Love, a cabaret that has appeared as part of Sydney Fringe Festival and Melbourne Fringe Festival. As a performer Steven has appeared in productions of Curtains, Thoroughly Modern Millie and The Sound of Music as well as many others.

Karen Luu – Dance

Karen has been training with JumpPA for a number of years and before that danced at Dorothy Cowie School of Dancing. Karen is very passionate about dance and has consistently excelled in her dance exams especially in classical ballet. She has a natural affinity with children and ensures that each class has the right combination of fun and discipline. Karen loves challenging her students to be the best dancers they can be.

Andrew Huynh – Dance

From the minute he moonwalked at the age of 4 and re-enacted all performances by Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Beyoncé and Justin Timberlake in his bedroom, Andrew realised dance was in his blood. Over the years, Andrew has participated in many projects and performances including Australian Idol Grand Final, X-Factor, Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant Grand Final and The “Bee Movie” Launch. He has worked with Tony Czar, Andre Fuentes, Kevin Maher, Erica Sobol, Alvin De Castro, Rosa Agius and Tiana Canterbury. He was also an assistant choreographer to Stephen Tannos for Top 16 of So You Think You Can Dance. Andrew was also part of ‘Femme Fatales of the Underworld’ and one of the principal dancer for ‘Tannos+Choice’ company. Andrew loves to dance and is always excited for whatever opportunities relating to his passion, not only to achieve all of his goals, but also to encourage and inspire others to follow theirs. Andrew plans to expand his career in the creative and performing arts industry.

Aiden Malacaria – Acrobatics

Ever since he was able to walk Aiden has been running, jumping, climbing and pushing the limits for what his body could take. Aiden performed with the Brisbane Tigers cheerleading team, before moving to Zoo Athletics as a cheer/dance/tumble coach as well as a competitor for both level 3, 4 and the ‘Australia’s Got Talent’ teams. Since moving to Sydney Aiden has coached at Dance@Nikki Webster, IMC Prospect, Martial Arts Spirit Health and Fitness Academy as well as joining Plus Fitness and Gymstars’ 4.2 cheerleading team. He has also begun performing acrobatics, dance, tricking and fire twirling at weddings, Coke commercials and Chinese New Year as well as working with other performers such as Phly Crew and Beat The Streets. He is also a founder of M.A.A.D. Crew which combines all the aspects of fire, dance, acrobatics, fitness and music together. Mid 2014 saw Aiden’s training really start paying off with an entry into Team 9 Lives which has performed at the Australian Dance Awards, Hip Hop championships and Mounties Got Talent in western Sydney, taking out a $7000 prize.
